Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

Opened November 16, 2001, to record-breaking attendance

New! Reviews of HP&TSS by the fans

The NBC program Harry Potter: Behind The Magic featured the sets and lengthy interviews with the children, but not Rickman. For an interview on the BBC program HARDTalk go to this link (you'll need ReadPlayer).

The Nov 5 Time Magazine has an article on HP&TSS with photo of AR as a rather peeved Snape on page 91 (Time Mag has a most annoying habit of not numbering their pages), and the following on page 92,

Rowling also had a hand in choosing most of the adult cast members. She specifically requested Coltrane. Others, like Richard Harris as Dumbledore, Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall and ALAN RICKMAN as Professor Snape came straight froma wish list of actors that Rowling provided the producers. She gave Rickman and Coltrane precious bits of information about their characters' futures. "There's an awful lot revealed about Hagrid in book five", says Coltrane, "and Jo thought it was important for me to know." Like what? "I could tell you", says Coltrane, "but then you'd have to die"
HP poster book has been on sale since July 31, but does not contain any AR/Snape photos; neither does the 2002 Harry Potter Calendar (1 photo per month) currently sold at Barnes & Noble. The October issue of Vanity Fair, however, does have a nice feature on Harry (see above photo of Snape).

For Game Boy players (with really good eyesight), the Leaky Cauldron site states

"The Game Boy Advance version Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone will have Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Neville Longbottom join you in classes where you'll have to complete 29 skills, such as mixing potions for Professor Snape".
No word as to whether Snape will look like AR, or whether Game Boy/Nintendo will come out with a magnifying lens powerful enough for Rickman fans to be able to tell.

For more details on all things Harry, visit The Leaky Cauldron, which states HP2 -- and possibly HP3 -- already started filming in October 2001, with all the original actors.
